Sofa and Corner Suite Restoration

Sagging seat cushions, worn armrests, faded colour. Full cycle: cleaning, leather softening, filling, re-colouring, protection.

A sofa wears out in three places, and always in the same order: first the seat cushion where you sit down, then the armrests, and finally the side facing the walkway. The colour fades unevenly — lighter where the sun falls, darker where heads and hands touch it.

Restoration usually costs several times less than a new piece of furniture, and with a good-brand sofa it is often the only way: that kind of frame and that kind of leather simply isn't sold in shops any more.

How we do it

  • Assessment of the condition and type of leather — furniture leather can be aniline or semi-aniline, which completely changes the technology.
  • Deep cleaning.
  • Leather softening wherever the leather has hardened.
  • Filling worn areas and grain matching.
  • Re-colouring the whole piece, not just the worn sections.
  • Surface protection.

Sagging seat cushions

If the seat has collapsed, the leather alone won't fix it — the problem is in the foam or in the webbing underneath. We check this at the outset and tell you straight, because restored leather on a collapsed seat looks good for about a week.

We work at our own premises; collection and delivery of the furniture are arranged at the quoting stage.

Leather Furniture — other services

Aniline and Semi-Aniline

Uncoated leathers need different chemistry and a different technique than pigmented car upholstery — otherwise the finish comes off along with the dirt.

Wear and hole repair

Wear and hole repair

Filling with repair compound and recreating the leather grain, so the repaired area doesn't stand out as a smooth patch.

Barber and dental chairs

Servicing and repairs for chairs in professional use — where wear is daily and downtime costs money.

Handbags and small leather goods

Worn corners, rubbed handles, scratches and faded colour. The same work as on a seat: filling the damage, recreating the grain, re-colouring and protection.

Antiquing and antiqued leather

A finish with deliberately uneven colour — for period-style furniture and interiors where an even coating would look artificial.

Send photos and we'll call you back with a quote

The quickest way is this: a photo of the whole item, a close-up of the damage and a note on what the item or part is. On that basis we'll tell you whether it can be saved and what it will cost.
